Want To Talk Music?
Welcome to Cadenza Circle, an exclusive online community of artists, scholars, enthusiasts, and thinkers interested in deep exploration of humanity through music.
What is the circle?
Cadenza Circle is a virtual community where classical music enthusiasts and curious-minded thinkers engage in deep, meaningful discussions. We meet online monthly in small groups (10-15 ppl) for provocative conversations on classical music, history, culture, and philosophy - moving far beyond the surface-level, anonymous, and often meaningless chatter of social media.
Guided Discussions & Readings: Each session draws from curated readings and listening materials to explore a fascinating topic, often inspired by historical events, philosophical questions, or cultural intersections.
Guest Appearances: Occasionally, we welcome special guests - musicians, scholars, and authors - to spark new insights.
A True Dialogue: No lectures, no passive listening - just rich conversation with curious, like-minded individuals.
What Do I Get?
Cadenza Circle operates on a membership basis to support platform operations, event hosting, and fair compensation for guest artists. We also believe that a membership model fosters greater commitment among participants, ensuring engaged, high-quality discussions.
As a member, you’ll gain access to:
NINE monthly live 90-minute virtual sessions: Engaging, small-group discussions on carefully selected topics. As a Circle gets filled, we determine a fixed meeting time, which typically occur either in the evening (8:00+ CT) or during a weekday lunchtime.
A private forum for continued conversation: Keep the discussion and exploration going between sessions and connect with fellow members.
Exclusive resources & reading materials: Thoughtfully curated articles, recordings, and prompts to deepen your understanding.
A true intellectual and musical community: No algorithms, no trolls, just real conversation with people who love classical music as much as you do.
Money-Back Guarantee: If you attend the first Circle and don’t believe this program to be a good fit, we will happily refund you.
Example: Holst & Sun Tzu
As an example of one of our Cadenza Circle sessions, we explored diverse perspectives on war and human conflict. Gustav Holst’s Mars, the Bringer of War from The Planets Suite evokes the chaos and brutality of warfare through relentless rhythms, jarring dissonance, and a driving militaristic pulse. In contrast, Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, written over 2,500 years ago, offers a philosophical examination of warfare, emphasizing strategy, preparation, and often the wisdom of avoiding conflict altogether.
By engaging with these two vastly different perspectives - one visceral and immediate, the other reflective and strategic - we dove into the complexities of human conflict. This exploration prompted us to consider how war is experienced, rationalized, and remembered across the spectrum of human experience.
Is this for me?
I launched Cadenza Circle out of a sense of solitude. My passion for classical music - diving deep into its history, debating interpretations, and exploring its meaning - is just as strong as my love for listening and playing. Yet, when I try to have real conversations about it, I am often met with yawns or eye-rolls. "Seriously? Brahms?" (Meanwhile, endless chatter about Patrick Mahomes is totally acceptable…and I say that as a football fan!)
I now realize I’m not alone. If you are one who wants to immerse yourself deeply in dialog through the lens of classical music, you are in the right place. We share ideas, debate various viewpoints, discuss performances, learn from each other, meet new people, and have a lot of fun along the way.
Cadenza Circle is our space.
