Interested In the Symposium?
Wonderful! We would love to get to know you and help you join our community. Please fill out the form, and we will be in touch!
Please note that ideal participants should be:
Great listeners. Our symposiums are predicated on all having equal authority to express thoughts and ideas (i.e., no singular individual is the sole subject matter expert). You will learn and grow by listening to others!
Comfortable sharing their voice. With no true authority, a great discussion is a dialog in which everyone expresses their ideas and opinions.
Willing to absorb the pre-symposium materials (readings, listenings, viewings).
Open-minded and curious, and capable of handling mature topics that may arise in the context of understanding the music, history, and composer. This may include religion, persecution and discrimination, race, sexuality, mortality, and others.
Able to get to the conference location (typically, the north shore suburbs of Chicago). At this time, transportation and lodging reimbursements are not provided.
Able to attend all events of the symposium over the 2-3 day timeframe, and possible excursions or other evening events.
